On November 5, 2022, a heartstone was dedicated in Sarah Mae Downie Park in memory of Nicki Curran, a longtime resident, friend, and the Docent Coordinator for many years to the Floral Park Home & Garden Tour.
For many years, Nicki and her dog Copper were a fixture at the Floral Park Home & Garden Tour, often seen dashing about on a cart to deal with Docent issues during the annual Home Tour. The heartstone dedication was attended by Nicki’s family and friends.

April 18, 1949 – August 21, 2022
Nicki lived much of her life in the City of Santa Ana. Her paternal grandparents built a home on Victoria Drive in Floral Park in 1939, and Nicki lived for many years in a house nearby on Santa Clara Avenue. Nicki was a friend and neighbor to so many in the neighborhood and loved Disneyland and teddy bears.
Following the heartstone dedication, a reception was held at the home of Dick and Toni Kimball complete with a bear-themed cake and decorations.
