The Opening Night Gala is our premier scholarship fundraising activity. This is an idea borrowed from the Haus and Garten Tour in German Village, Columbus, Ohio, where several devoted Floral Park residents relocated for work. This evening under the stars features a hors d’oeuvres station, buffet dinner, hand-crafted cocktails, entertainment, and live and silent auctions.
2026 Opening Night Gala
The FPNA Opening Night Gala and Fundraiser, fondly known throughout the neighborhood as the Opening Night Gala, returns on Saturday, April 18, 2026, one week ahead of Home Tour Weekend.
This beloved evening is one of Floral Park’s most anticipated events, bringing neighbors together for a night of celebration, connection, and community pride. While it is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable events of the year, the Opening Night Gala is, first and foremost, a fundraiser. Proceeds support scholarships and grants for students, teachers, and businesses in or serving the Santa Ana community, extending the impact of Floral Park well beyond our neighborhood.
The ticket purchase link will go live on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Tickets are $150 per person, and this year ticket sales will open to all Floral Park residents at the same time. The early presale period will end on March 18, 2026, when the ticket price will increase to $175 per person, so you are encouraged to sign up early!
This year’s Opening Night Gala and Fundraiser will be held at the beautiful midcentury home of Carl Jordan and Kevin Islas, The Hester House, offering an enchanting evening under the stars. Leaning into the atmosphere of the home, we will be decorating in a 60s inspired motif! Think Mad Men, not disco! Entertainment will include live music from a four-piece band and a live auction led by a celebrity auctioneer whose services have been generously donated, further maximizing the impact of the evening.
The hosts have also generously donated a limited Pre Gala Event for 50 guests. This early experience will include tray-passed appetizers, a specialty cocktail, and premium beverage selections, along with a token allowing guests to preselect a dinner seat. The Pre Gala Event will take place inside the home and within a reserved outdoor area and will begin at 5:15 PM. The Pre Gala Event is available as an optional add-on for an additional $50 per ticket. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are also excited to share a preview of this year’s auction offerings. Silent auction items will include two tickets to South Coast Repertory paired with dinner for two at a nearby restaurant, a golf driver, four tickets to Footloose at the Gem Theatre with dinner nearby, custom-made stained glass art, two decorated tables at Freedom Fest with two bottles of wine at each table, and tickets to the Haunted OC tour. Live auction teasers include the always-popular Jones’s Pizza Party and Pasta Making Party.

Auction items are graciously donated by people like you!
Past items have included one-of-a-kind experiences such as a Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade evening, a weekend stay in Lake Arrowhead, a fishing trip on a private boat, a catered Churrascaria dinner, a pizza party, USC football tickets, gift certificates, and premium wine baskets. In 2025, the event was held at the historic Tiki House in Floral Park with over 155 people in attendance. The evening’s theme was a “Polynesian Holiday”.
